Every success story from the Delray Center’s Eating Disorder Program begins with a comprehensive psychological and physical evaluation and individual nutrition assessment. This’s multi-step process is led by our world-renowned founder and medical director, Dr. Raul Rodriguez, MD. At the Delray Center, we build customized treatment programs that are firmly rooted in the individual needs of our patients.
During this initial evaluation and assessment phase, our team of medical experts identifies any coexisting psychological conditions that may be contributing to an eating disorder such as anxiety, depression, substance abuse or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Patients are also screened for common physical abnormalities such as vitamin deficiencies, osteoporosis, heart complications or diminished organ function. Finally, our licensed dieticians conduct an in-depth review of a patient’s eating patterns and nutritional intake. Our goal is to create a plan that will treat the eating disorder, while also addressing any underlying physical and psychological conditions that are diminishing a patient’s overall quality of life.
